Legalization Information

Canadian documents only to be used in Indonesia.

Documents issued by an Indonesian company or a from a foreign company cannot be Authenticated by the Embassy of Indonesia in Canada.

Please allow space on your document to include the Embassy sticker (8cm x 5cm) or print your document on a legal size paper (maximum size) prior to requesting the stamp from the Notary Public.

Procedure

To have a document legalized, submit all the requirements to the Embassy, either in person, through Canada Post or Courier service.

The Embassy of the Republic Indonesia (Consular Services) will legalize document(s) only after they have been legalized  by a Notary Public and authenticated by Global Affairs Canada http://www.international.gc.ca/department-ministere/authentication-authentification_documents.aspx?lang=eng )

Embassy ‘s Requirements:

  1. Please include a covering letter/introduction letter  from the Canadian Company indicating their complete information, such as : Name of Company, address, contact person, phone and fax number, email address and website.
  2. Also indicate the contact person’s email address.
  3. For personal documents, you will  need to provide a copy of your Passport ID page and any other government official identification to support the applicant’s identity.
  4. Before submitting original document(s) to be legalized, they must be legalized beforehand by a Notary Public and authenticated by Global Affairs Canada.
  5. Legalization fee for business documents is C$150.00 per document and C$30.00 for non-business documents, payable by money order/bank draft only. 
  6. Please include a return envelope:  (Consular Affairs is not responsible for sending your documents to Indonesia)
  • a. By hand : envelop with name of contact person and contact number.
  • b. Xpress Post : the Canada Post document submission guideline.
  • c. Courier Service with a prepaid completed waybill and account number.

The processing time is 3 – 5 working days (Monday – Thursday), providing that the documents are submitted according to the regulations (not including statutory holidays).
