Visit Visa

Single Entry is given to foreigners who wish to visit Indonesia either for business, social, family, pleasure visit and other purposes (including cruise ship passengers).

Single entry visa, is a one time entry visa into Indonesia, it will allow you to stay for a maximum stay of  60 (sixty) days in Indonesia.  The possibility of a visa extending for Business, Cultural and family visit purpose can be requested with the support of an Indonesian sponsor in Indonesia.  This visa is valid for 90 days and the exit from Indonesia must be before that date.

Multiple entries visa, is now issued only once the Embassy has received an authorization from Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta . This is for travelers who are planning to enter Indonesia several times in the period of 1 year without staying more than 60 days for each visit.  The validity of a multiple-entry visa is  for 1 (one) year from the date of issuance and cannot be extended or converted to any other type of stay permit.  The visa fee for this visa is $128.00, in the form of a money order payable to the Embassy of Indonesia.

  • For those traveling to Indonesia for the purpose of Media /Journalism /Video shooting or Research will need to contact the Information Affairs or the Consular Services at the Embassy of Indonesia in Ottawa to obtain further information.
  • For citizens from countries that require authorization will need to allow at least 4 (four) weeks for the authorization (calling visa) to be processed and received at the Embassy.
  • To minimize paper, please print double sided the visa application and airline ticket.
  • It is recommended to submit your visa request in the morning between 9:30 – 11:30.
  • The Consular Services will process you visa request within 3 working days, providing that all requirements are submitted accordingly. We do not accept additional fee to expedite a visa request.
  • Please read bellow the procedure to submit your visa request and also the procedure to return your passport.

► To avoid any inconvenience or delay in the issuance of the visa, please reassure the following:

  • The applicant must submit the visa request no later than 7 (seven) working days prior to departure and no more than 30 (thirty) working days prior to leaving Canada.
  • Applicants that have dual nationality, must be in Canada during the processing time of the visa request.
  • Please read carefully the rules and regulation prior to submitting your visa request. Falling to submit all visa requirements according to the purpose of visa, the visa will not be issued and the Consular Services will not be responsible for any inconvenience that the applicant will face.

General visa requirements regardless to the purpose of visit:

  1. Original passport must be submitted and be valid for more than 6 (six) months for a (single entry) and 18 (eighteen) months for multiple entries, from the date of exit from Indonesia. Please note that the Embassy will not accept damaged passport.
  2. Visa application (F-004-2009-Eng) the original form must be completed in full, (you can use the computer to complete the visa form)
  3. 2 (two) recent photographs staple/glue one photograph to the visa application form in the box. See our photograph specification information. Other photograph format will not be accepted. Do not fold / bend the photograph on the visa form.
  4. Complete round trip electronic airline ticket, leaving Canada to and from Indonesia and to another country. The airline ticket must be printed with the heading of the agent that issued the ticket. We do not accepted one way ticket, open ticket and the ticket date must not exceed 60 days for tourist visit.
  5. For Non-Canadian citizen: you must submit a copy of your Canadian Immigration document.
  6. For Non-Canadian citizen: a letter from your Employer in Canada, stating your employment, purpose of visit and length of travel to Indonesia.
  7. Visa request for Non-Canadian Citizen,  is at the discretion of the Embassy to request additional documents from the above mentioned requirements. The Embassy may also need to request a Letter of Recommendation from the  Embassy of Indonesia in the applicant’s country of origin.
  8. The visa payment is paid in the form of a Money order, payable to the Embassy of Indonesia.  A single entry: $55.00 (Information and current visa application fee).
  9. Photocopy of other country’s valid passport. (if applicable)

In addition to the above requirements, the following requirements also apply depending on the purpose of your trip.

Traveling for the purpose for   BUSINESS, SOCIAL OR FAMILY VISIT.

BUSINESS PURPOSE:

Letters must be with the letterhead of  the company and also address to the Embassy of Indonesia .

  1. Reference letter from the sending company.
  2. Letter of invitation from the counterpart in Indonesia mentioning the purpose of visit.
  3. When submitting an Authorization Fax from Director General of Immigration an additional fee of $8.00 must be included.

SOCIAL/CULTURAL PURPOSE:

Letters must be with the letterhead of  the company and also address to the Embassy of Indonesia .

  1. Letter for invitation form the Indonesia organization
  2. Letter from the sending Institute.

FAMILY VISIT:

  1. Letter of Invitation from the relative in Indonesia
  2. If the Indonesia parent/spouse is traveling with the applicant, you must submit a copy of the valid Indonesian Passport (ID page only) and a copy of their flight itinerary / electronic ticket.

CRUISE SHIP PASSENGER:

  1. Copy of confirmation as well as the cruise itinerary of all stops including in Indonesian territory.

Submitting your visa request in person:

  • All supporting visa documents must be submitted in an envelope with the name of the applicant(s) with contact number. If the person dropping off the visa request(s) is not the applicant, please indicate your name with contact number. (If the applicant would like the passport returned by courier, please provide the Consular Services with one of the following envelope.

Returning the passport by courier: (Please do not use regular mail for your passport).

  • by Xpresspost Canada: please complete the address information with contact number. You need to keep the tracking number receipt.

IF YOUR VISA REQUEST IS URGENT, WE RECOMMEND YOU TO SUBMIT A RETURN ENVELOP WITH THE FOLLOWING COURIER SERVICE:

  • FedEx or Purolator: please complete the waybill in full with account number. The Embassy does not send by COD Services.

OTHER INFORMATION:

 

Important Notice:

There are two regions in Indonesia: Poso, and Papua the applicant could not visit without special permission and approval. The Applicant who wishes to enter the restricted regions must obtain special authorization from Indonesian authorities. This rule also applies to those who work in these regions, e.g. Freeport employees. Visitors who enter these regions without permission are subject to arrest and detention and will be prosecuted according to Indonesian law.

When To Submit a Visa Request

To avoid any inconvenience, it is recommended for the applicant to submit the visa request no later than 7 (seven) days prior to departure and not more than 30 days prior to leaving Canada . To avoid any delay, please make sure that all supported documents are submitted. It is advisable to check with the Consular Services at the Embassy if you do not receive your returned passport within 10 (ten)days after submitting it to the Embassy.
